NEWS: NCS Match Day Take Over

Our NCS Match Day Takeover will take place on Saturday 12th February 2022

Who are we?

NCS is a one in a lifetime two week programme that takes place over summer, it is specifically for young people in year 11 who want a summer they will never forget. Week one is spent at a residential taking part in various adventure sports and developing skills that will support the young people in their next steps in life. Week two is based locally in Blackpool, this week they will be working on a project that will make a positive difference in their community.

There are two programmes this summer:

Programme 1:
Start Date: 4th July
Location: YHA Eyam – Peak District

Programme 2:
Start Date: 25th July

Location: YHA Trafford Hall – Chester

How Much?

To put a single person through NCS is costs £1200, but the government invests in the programme so the most it will cost a single participant is £50 but there are bursaries available for those who have free school meals, on a EHCP plan, are in or recently left local authority care or are a young carer, the bursary drops the price from £50 to £10.

Join Our Changemakers Team

Changemakers are individuals aged 16/17 who participate in activities that focus’ on social action, skill development and having a positive impact on things that matter to them in their local community.

Becoming a changemaker is such an incredible opportunity as they will learn a lot about themselves and those around them. They will develop skills that will boost their CV and make them stand out amongst the crowd such as leadership, teamwork, creativity, planning, problem solving and project management. They will meet likeminded young people who have a passion to make a real difference in your local community making it a brighter future for everyone.

What we are doing during the match day takeover:

Our NCS team will be outside the ECC on the north stand carpark with games, prizes and all the information you need to sign up to our once in a lifetime summer experience.

From 1pm the Blackpool FC Community Trust bear will be walking around, welcoming people, taking photos and providing leaflets all about NCS and how you can get involved.

We will also be setting up the Panna Football for the young people to get involved along with some amazing prizes to be won!
