ETC Successes

Esme, From Blackpool to Manchester

Esme is an U13s goalkeeper who attends the Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre. Her hard work across the year has meant that she has been offered a place in the Man City u14s Pro Game Academy squad for the 2023/24 season.

Blackpool FC ETC vs Preston North End ETC

We took all of our FA Emerging Talent Centre girls to play Preston North End ETC for a great day of football in the sun. Lots of talented players were on display and our girls represented Blackpool FC amazingly well.

Emerging Talent Centre Trainers of the Month

Well done to the three girls who received our new Trainer of the Week award at our Emerging Talent Centre.
Firstly, Freya received the award as has excelled so much that we asked her to jump from u12s into u13s. She rose to the challenge and worked hard to compete with the girls a year older than her.
Secondly, Lily received the award as she continued our 1km challenge and knocked 26 seconds off her previous fastest time!
Lastly, Violet received the award as she stepped up from u9 to train with the u10s. She has also been working very hard in our weekly training sessions and has recently broken her PB for running 2km.

Thank you to LionTrust for their continued support of our Girls Emerging Talent Centre!

Blackpool Pride 2023

This month, some of our wonderful staff attended Pride Blackpool and were joined by several Blackpool FC fans. We took part in the parade and even set up a stall, allowing people to learn more about the programmes we offer. It was also great to bump into some familiar faces such as Bloomfield Bear and attendees of our Family Hubs.

Armed Forces Tournament 2023

With support from the Armed Forces Covenant Trust and The Veterans’ Foundation our BFCCT Armed Forces Football Team took part in the 2nd annual Penwortham Charity Football Tournament. This year funds were raised for Andy’s Man Club; a charity set up to spread awareness of mental health and suicide prevention with many teams taking part from all over Lancashire.
The competition was won by a very strong Penwortham Saint Gerrard’s Vets team. Well done to them!

It was a great afternoon which was thoroughly enjoyed by all and for an amazing cause. We hope to see you all again next year!

#ArmedForcesWeek

To celebrate #ArmedForcesWeek, Highfield Leadership Academy Cadets kindly joined us at our NAAFI Break. The cadets helped us give our veterans bacon and sausage barms and hot drinks while they shared stories, experiences, knowledge and advice with the young ones.

We also welcomed the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service to our NAAFI Break. They spoke to veterans about how to make their homes safer. From smoke alarms to notes in a bottle, they offered free home visits for everyone who was interested.

Finally, we invited participants and the cadets to come on a tour of Bloomfield Road stadium. They had the opportunity to see old shirts, see the different rooms across the stadium and understand the true history of Blackpool FC.

Boccia Festival

Six Blackpool SEND schools took part in a Boccia Festival at Stanley Park. This was the first SEND event since Covid, so seeing such a great turnout was great. We hope to hold some more of these events in the future. We want to thank BBC Children in Need for their continued support of our SEND programmes.
