Hear From a Participant: Chelsie

“I first started with the Community Trust in 2018, completing the Traineeship programme, which gave me the opportunity to learn employment skills such as communication, confidence, work values and respect.  During this course I completed work experience in a gym facility, gaining an insight into health and fitness, which was an interest of mine and developed my knowledge in this field.

After the Traineeship, the Community Trust continued to help and support my development, offering me voluntary work with Fit2Go, mainstream sports camp and now I support delivery of sessions with the inclusion team.

Every week, I work with highly qualified and experienced coaches to deliver sessions to amputee participants, downs syndrome, hearing impairment and a successful coach and I am now hoping to put these skills and knowledge into practice by enrolling on the Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching and Development course at the Trust in September 2019.  I will continue my voluntary work throughout this period in order to progress and be as successful as I can in the sports industry.”
