Blackpool FC School provides full time education for Year 10 and 11 students who require an alternative to mainstream education. We work with Blackpool Council, Educational Diversity and numerous local high schools to provide the students with GCSE English Language, GCSE Maths, Functional Skills Maths and English, NCFE Sport and fitness, PSHE/RSE whilst also offering The Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Gemma Trickett, Head of School said:
“We are so proud of all our students. We have smashed the national average percentage of pupils in alternative provision who pass English. Every single student graded in both Maths and English, and some students achieved a Level 1 in Sport and Fitness too!
“A special shout out to Charlie Polakovs, who achieved a Grade 4 in his English GCSE and has already started his apprenticeship and is working as a trainee joiner.”
Charlie’s Mum commented on social media saying:
“This makes me emotional, my boys last ever school football match with Blackpool FC School, scoring seven goals and winning the tournament. Best thing Chaz ever did was to be lucky enough to get into this school. Honestly can’t thank them enough for what they have done and what he achieved and now he is on his second week of week in his joinery job. Next stop college to be a qualified joiner.”
Since 2013, we have had over 600 students exceed their potential at Blackpool FC Sports College. Our students not only achieve outstanding grades but secure the best progression into Higher Education and employment. To deliver these high levels of achievement, we focus on constantly providing outstanding teaching, exceptional personal support and opportunities to develop key life skills.
