FIT Blackpool Football is making a return!

FFIT Fans was developed and launched in 2018 as a male specific weight management programme. Due to the sessions being a huge success and an increase in popularity, the programme was opened up to everyone and rebranded as FIT Blackpool. Since then, the programme has continued to grow strength by strength. To date, over 550 local people have taken part in the free programme.

Football is at the core of many communities. Whether people support the same team or their rivals, an interest of football is shared between many. Through our Fit Blackpool Football sessions, we aim to bring the people who love football together, supporting each other to reach their goals. But what actually will you be doing?…

FIT Blackpool: Football is a free 12 week weight management and healthy lifestyle programme which combines workshop based interventions with physical activity. Some of the topics covered are nutrition, alcohol, barriers to a healthy lifestyle and participants also receive a person specific calorie sheet to support their journey to a healthier lifestyle. As part of the sessions you will take part in weekly football activities to aid your weight loss.

“After the success of our previous Fit Blackpool Football cohort, I am excited to see more people reconnect with a sport they love in order to develop their physical activity levels, and also to witness it having such a positive impact on their day to day life.”

The physical activity at this session will be small sided football matches on Lytham YMCA 4G AstroTurf.

Sessions run weekly for 90 minutes, with the first half being the workshop interventions and the second half being small sided football.

How can you get involved?

Starting on Friday 7th October at Lytham YMCA, 6:30pm – 8:00pm

The programme will be for males 18+ with a BMI of 25 or above.
