Blackpool FC Community Trust students attended a three day trip to Patterdale in the eastern part of the Lake District as a reward for their hard work throughout the year.
The students and staff stayed at Langton Activity Centre all under one roof having to prepare, cook and clean after themselves. Not only did this challenge students domestically but also helped increase responsibility and independence.
It wasn’t all hard work though as they quickly located the table tennis table and head tennis court where they could relax, socialise and enjoy a few days of glorious sunshine.
After enjoying a head tennis tournament and a BBQ the students cooled off with a walk round Pooley Bridge, followed by the women’s World Cup Semi-Final between England and USA (a few snuck off to catch up on the latest gossip in Love Island).
The next day saw a visit into Ullswater with a walk round the fabulous views of Aira Force and an afternoon sailing boats on the lake. The students weren’t done there though, as later that day, they took part in some fell running with staff followed by some swimming in a nearby gill.
That night the students enjoyed a pub dinner together to celebrate what’s been a fantastic year for our Education provision. Every student was a credit to themselves, the Trust and their families, demonstrating excellent behaviour throughout the trip and the year.
Lauchlan Logan, a BTEC Level 3 Sport Learner, said:
“The trip to the Lake District was really fun, I got to spend some time with the students and three of the teachers from the college, did some fun activities like walking through different sites, and playing Foot Tennis when back at the place we stayed. All together it was a fun experience and a great chance to bond with the team before the start of the new season”.
All the staff at Blackpool FC Community Trust would like to wish everyone the best of luck when receiving their results. We will be enrolling learners on August 22ndin the Community Trust Office at Bloomfield Road.
