Coming Up In July 2022

Throughout July we will continue to deliver all our usual weekly activities, from Walk and Talks, Walking Football and Sporting Memories to Tiny Tangerines, Primary School and High School provision.  There are a few extra dates for your diaries you may want to take note of too:

NCS Summer Starts (4th July)

Our NCS team is providing a two-week programme for young people where they will be spending a week at EYAM developing skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, creativity and leadership. The young people will then spend a week locally in Blackpool, working in a team on a social action project that will make a positive impact on a charity or a cause that means something to them.

Health and Social Traineehship (4th July)

Would you like a career in Health and Social Care?
Our Traineeships can provide several routes down different career paths, giving everyone an opportunity to discover what they want to do with their lives. Thanks to the support from Prince’s Trust, we are now delivering a Traineeship specific to the Health and Social Care industry.

If you are interested in taking part please contact 01253 348 691 or email traineeship@bfcct.co.uk

Women’s Euros (6th July)

Blackpool FC and Blackpool FC Community Trust have invited every Blackpool FC Girls and Ladies player and their families to the Matthew’s Hospitality Suite at Bloomfield Road to watch an England Lioness Women’s Euros 2022 match.  As part of the evening we will be hosting a mini fan-zone outside the stadium with face painting, music, 1v1 Panna cages, and indoor football. We expect well over 100 people to be in attendance cheering on the England Lionesses.

If you are female and enjoy playing football please contact andrew.aspinall@bfcct.co.uk for more information about how you can get involved with Blackpool FC Girls and Ladies.

Enterprise Challenge (12th July)

Through support from Beaverbrooks Charitable Trust, we deliver an Enterprise programme in High Schools across Blackpool which helps Year 8 students build key life skills that they can take with them forever.  To conclude the programme, students are invited to Blackpool FC stadium to take part in The Enterprise Challenge where they present their business idea. Armfield Memorial Cup (13th July)

Introduced in 2019 to honour arguably Blackpool’s most famous footballer, Jimmy Armfield, the competition aims to give Year 3 and 4 pupils an opportunity to play football and learn about Jimmy Armfield’s outstanding career. The day aims to share awareness of who Jimmy was, as both a player and a person, and celebrate all that he achieved throughout his life. Schools across Blackpool will come together to participate in the tournament at Stanley Park Sports Centre, with the winners being invited to Bloomfield Road for a tour and to visit Jimmy’s statue.
