Blackpool FC Sports College Open Evening 26th July 2022

This month Blackpool FC Sports College finished the academic year with a bang! There have been many things to celebrate with students exceeding their predicted target grades, passing their Maths and English qualifications and developing employability skills through the various unique work placements on offer. This year we have had 12 students gain paid work with Blackpool FC Community Trust and a further 20 students completed volunteering hours on various programmes delivered by Blackpool FC Community Trust and in the wider community.

Blackpool FC Community Trust is the biggest sports organisation in Blackpool, and we pride ourselves on the unique opportunities we are able to provide our learners.

Robert Mellor (17) has just finished his Level 3 Extended Diploma Sports course this month and during his 2 years, he worked alongside qualified and experienced coaches.

“I wouldn’t be where I am if it wasn’t for the Blackpool FC Sports College. The teaching staff are so supportive and offer many opportunities to gain work experience. I have grown in confidence, and I am developing weekly, delivering on the Tiny Tangerines football sessions. They are now starting to upskill me and put me through my NGB coaching qualifications. I made the best decision studying here!”

Rob will now progress to a sports coaching degree at Blackpool FC Sports College whilst continuing his employment with the Community Trust.
