Studying at Blackpool FC Sports College gives students the rare opportunity to learn within a functioning sports organisation, based within a professional football stadium. This means our students can speak to, and learn from, current professionals working in the sport, fitness and leisure sector.

This week, Robert Mellor, a current Level 3 BTEC Sport student at Blackpool FC Sports College, has been delivering a series of football sessions for local children as part of our Sports Camps being delivered across Blackpool this summer.
Robert has been given the opportunity of paid work throughout the summer after completing numerous hours of volunteering and showing a real commitment to his studies. He has also grown in confidence when leading sessions as part of the coaching pathway and this experience will help him even more.
Robert said, “The college is very positive and helpful in aiding me to achieve what I want in coaching. All the tutors are very supportive which creates a relaxed environment for me to complete my work to the best standard. I would highly recommend anyone who is interested in a career in sport to sign up for this college as it is perfectly suited for my needs, giving me plenty of opportunities.”
