We are in the process of finishing our NCS Autumn 2018, with only the Social Action projects to be delivered.
This Autumn we have seen 99 young people from the various Blackpool and Fylde College sites and courses.
All groups headed up to the Scottish borders for Phase 1 of the programme to Rock UK’s Whithaugh Park site. Whilst they were there they had to complete a number of activities including Zip Wire, Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking and many more. The students also had to learn some life skills such as cooking, cleaning and working as a team.
Following Phase 1’s residential the young people then moved onto the Discovery phase of NCS where we brought in Ross McWilliam as a guest speaker, he worked on Growth mindset, self confidence, CV building and interview techniques. We also looked at local problems and charities in preparation for the young peoples social action project
