World Mental Health Awareness Day 2019

Thursday 10th October 2019 is World Mental Health Awareness Day.

Blackpool FC Community Trust (BFCCT) will be supporting this by working with a number of organisations at the Blackpool FC home match against Rotherham United on Saturday 12thOctober.

Lancashire Mind, Rethink Mental Illness, Supporting Minds, Blackpool Carers Centre, Blackpool Inspirations, will all have a presence on the day to speak with people and raise awareness of Mental Health.  There will also be volunteers from Samaritans available with information about how to contact them and find help should you need it.

Representatives from Premier League Foundation, Blackpool Council/Public Health and NHS will also be supporting the event.

Get Vocal is the Mental Health campaign that is run by Blackpool Council and forms part of the sponsorship with the club. The accompanying Get Vocal video will be played on the ‘big screen’ to showcase their local campaign for the Blackpool community.  Blackpool FC players will also be getting involved by proudly wearing Get Vocal shirts as they warm up for the match.

Increasing and maintaining positive mental health in our local community is extremely important to BFCCT.  To highlight this, we will be posting videos on our social media throughout the week from participants who currently attend our provisions to show what a positive impact the activities that we deliver can have.

On Saturday 12thOctober 2019 we will also have staff available to inform the community about what activities we provide that they can get involved in; from Get Set to Go, FREE football activities for 16 year olds and over, to our NEW Premier League Inspires programmes which will be delivered in local High schools.
