Futsal: Blackpool A Team crowned champions of North West Futsal Development League

Blackpool FC Community Trust A team were crowned champions of the North West Futsal Development League whilst the B team finished as runners up.

The A side went 14 games unbeaten in the league this season and have progressed through to the 2nd round of the EFL Cup with three wins from three during the group stages in York, beating the National champions Grimsby Town in the process. The team celebrated their league success during Blackpool’s 1-0 victory over Stevenage FC.

Blackpool B team did themselves and Blackpool FC Community Trust proud, as they came second in the league – pushing Blackpool A all the way.

Football Development Officer Alex Taylor is delighted with the progress of the players and believes either side can win the Nationals Development League. Alex said, “I’m delighted with the progress the players have made this season. They’ve improved their technical aspect of futsal and their attitude has been brilliant. The team fully enjoyed being pitch side during the Blackpool and Stevenage game as they received an excellent reception from the crowd.” Futsal Birmingham 2

Blackpool FC Community Trust are running a Futsal Development Centre at Blackpool Sports Centre every Thursday 5.30pm-6.30pm – free of charge. The Futsal Development Centre is aimed at males and females aged 15/18.
