Want to get FFIT and healthy?

After a very successful first course of Football Fans in Training (FFIT), 16 new participants have signed up for the delivery of the second course.    The main aims of the programme are to:

–              Increase knowledge of diet and nutrition

–              Improve lifestyle choices

–              Increase physical activity amongst participants

–              Reduce weight and waist measurements

–              Increase engagement in other physical activity

On the first week the participants took part in a workshop exploring the programme overview followed by a stadium tour where they got exclusive access to the home changing room and pitch-side.

For their second session the participants looked at different food groups and portion sizes whilst setting themselves SMART goals, these are weekly targets regarding healthy lifestyles.  This was followed by a low intensity physical activity session walking up and down the stands and around the pitch.

We will be tracking their progress as the course continues and supporting the individuals as much as we can.  There are additional activity sessions they can attend too such as Under 60’s Walking Football and Masters Football.

Male participants, aged 35-65, are eligible to take part in the Football Fans in Training programme if they have a BMI of 28+ or a waist size of 38+ inches.
