Fit2Go - Third Term Player Visits

As we complete the six week delivery in our third set of schools this academic year, Blackpool FC players have been to see all of the Year 4 pupils that took part.

A small squad of players paid visits across the six schools that received the programme, Devonshire; Christ the King; Revoe; St Kentigerns; Boundary; and St John’s.

Amongst the players were Tony McMahon, Nathan Tyson, James Caton, Matt Gilks, Isaiah Osbourne, Craig Cathcart, Michael Chopra, Bobby Grant and Jack Robinson.

These visits give pupils the chance to quiz the players on how professional footballers lead a healthy lifestyle and are a great way for the young people to get close to their footballing heroes.

Blackpool goalkeeper Matt Gilks who visited Boundary Primary school said:

“It’s great to visit primary schools and see the great work that the Community Trust are doing in our town.

“Eating healthily and getting the right amount of exercise is essential for me, as a professional athlete, and should be just as important to these young people who we want to grow up to lead a healthy lifestyle so educating them in this area at this age is key.”

All pupils got the players’ autographs and photos were taken of the visit.
